                               RESOLUTION NO. 19526
                  
                  
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
                   EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND
                   THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, DEPARTMENT OF
                   TRANSPORTATION AND THE CINCINNATI, NEW
                   ORLEANS AND TEXAS PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY
                   AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
                   AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE STATE
                   OF TENNESSEE, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
                   AND CSX TRANSPORTATION, INC. FOR THE REMOVAL
                   AND REPLACEMENT OF THE CENTRAL AVENUE
                   BRIDGE.
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor of the City of Chattanooga 

       be and is hereby authorized to execute and bind the City of
       Chattanooga to an agreement between the City of Chattanooga and 
the
       State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation and the
       Cincinnati, New Orleans and Texas Pacific Railroad Company and a
       separate agreement between the City of Chattanooga and the State 
of
       Tennessee, Department of Transportation and CSX Transportation,
       Inc. for the removal and replacement of the Central Avenue 
Bridge.
       The total contribution by both railroads under these agreements
       will be the sum of $333,320.00 which shall be payable to the City 

       of Chattanooga upon the completion of the bridge replacement
       project and has resulted from a settlement of claims against both 

       railroads concerning the Central Avenue Bridge replacement 
project.
